Chaperoned Charters

Over the years here at Jung Charters we’ve had a number of people say how they’d love to do a boat trip here on the West Coast of Florida or through lake Okeechobee and back and even down to the Keys and Key West but they just don’t feel comfortable going it alone in strange waters and/or over open water.

So we’ve been talking it over and are looking into the possibility of running some Chaperoned 3 - 4 boat flotilla type trips. The price of an 8 day 7 night trip would included all fuel, all dockage, tender and motor, linens, and the cost of a combined captain/mechanic/chaperone going along as well. Your only out of pocket expenses would be food and entertainment. We also now offer a provisioning service so when you come down to your boat it can be fully stocked with the food and drink of your choice.

We are looking at a cost of around $5000.00 for a 42′ Grand Banks motor yacht that could comfortably sleep 4-6 people. Smaller size boats would be a bit less.

Any Keys trips would be a bit more due to additional fuel costs. As well as perhaps needing to be a couple of days longer, and there for costing a bit more, due to the extra time you need to really see more of the Keys than just the Key West area.

As to the itinerary and dates of these trip, well that could be up to you folks. We are thinking about the early summer and early fall going perhaps to some of the more interesting places, and anchorages on this coast. Like Cabbage Key and the private island of Useppa for example. Along with a trip or two to the Keys and Key West if there is interest. But we’re open to suggestions so please feel free to let us know when and where you might be interested in going.

Now since there would be a qualified Captain going along as the group chaperone running one of the boats, this would be the perfect opportunity to bring along some of your non-boating friends and family who might enjoy a Captained charter trip.

So by all means, tell us what interests you and let’s see if we can get some trips going!
