Captiva Island - the name alone evokes images of mystery and romance. Indeed, according to legend, our island is called Captiva because in the late 1700s the infamous pirate Jose Gaspar kept beautiful women captive here. In the beginning of this century, an inventor named Clarence Chadwick developed a prosperous key lime and coconut plantation on the island. Later, to preserve the beauty of Captiva, this plantation was transformed into a resort. Today, travelers from all over the world are enticed by the elegance and seclusion of South Seas Plantation. It is our hope that they will continue to find Captiva Island just as captivating as it was centuries ago. |

On the nothern tip of Captiva Island at Redfish Pass, you'll find the quiet elegance of South Seas Plantation. Considered by many to be the finest yacht harbour on Florida's southwest coast. In fact, in Motorboating and Sailing magazine, South Seas Plantation's Harbour was named among the "dozen most spectacular cruising grounds in North America." A welcoming port of call: calm, friendly waters, clearly-defined channel markers, six-foot low-tide depth, 3,600 feet of alongside berthing, and their profession crew awaits your arrival. Amenities await you dockside and ashore. You'll find all the conveniences you need - fresh water, electricity, telephone, cable TV, diesel fuel, gasoline and pump out station. The Ship's Store is a good place to stock up on marine charts, groceries, ice, packaged goods, and a complete selection of deli items. They make a point to offer fresh-made salads, fresh fruit and dairy products. Also, for your comfort and convenience, they have deluxe showers and dressing rooms, washers and dryers - even dockside barbecue areas. |
| From day camps to teen programs, South Seas Plantation offers so many activities for kids, most young people think of us as an endless playground. There's the Explorer Kids' Club which offers supervised programs for children 3 to 11. Upon check-in, children automatically receive an official membership certificate and Explorer Kids' Club gift free. There are a multitude of activities available to Explorer Kids' Club member; a fee is required to cover supplies. |

South Seas Plantion offers a variety of luxury accommodations ranging from deluxe hotel rooms to spacious one-, two- and three-bedroom suites complete with fully equipped kitchens. These accommodations are strategically placed throughout the resort's 330acres, with views of the beach, the bay, the marina, the tennis center, or golf course. All accommodations were built in harmony with nature - and no building is taller than the tallest tree. |
